Hi, I’m Jess. I write, garden, knit, cook, and read lots—especially Ursula K. Le Guin.
As a writer and reader, I am interested in speculative fiction, sci-fi and contemporary literature. I explore themes related to climate collapse and resilience, Arctic cultures, space exploration, Jewish diaspora, ideas about God, indigenous experiences, aliens, textiles, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive and thrive with creativity and hope.
I also host the virtual and in-person climate change book club, Book Club for the Planet.
Ursula Fan Club is a free weekly newsletter where I share what I’m reading and writing. If you’re looking for writing encouragement, book recommendations, and to tap into the online writing community with me, welcome, welcome! Let’s build our practice together. :)
