I'm reading Earthsea at last! A friend of a friend gracious lent it to me at a dinner party they hosted. How nice to be lost in another of Ursula's world. I'd love to hear more about how you read so much. I have gone through many bouts of voracious reading, especially as a child, but I seem to have lost the thread.
Having a character web sounds like a great idea. I think I'm going to try one of those too.
I've been watching true detective S4 but was a bit deflated by episode 1. Amazing setting, love the premise (hello The Thing), but couldn't quite believe all the performances and it felt a bit exposition-heavy. Still, excited to see how it pans out but my initial enthusiasm was tempered slightly.
(PS in case you're wondering, I was scrolling the Explore tab and clicked through to your post 😊 thanks for the great read!)
Great to meet you here! Thank you for reading and sharing how you discovered me. Hopefully ep. 2 of TD wins you back, it was so layered and I loved the character development!
I am excited that you’re working on a novel! Having support from your writing group and other collective writing projects sounds like it will be really helpful. Artistic pursuits are often so solitary. I’ve found that checking in with others and sharing work can keep me inspired.
Also very fun to see what you’ve read and are reading! I’d love to talk more about books with you! I just finished “What I Talk About When I Talk About Running” by Haruki Murakami, which is about his dedication to running and how it relates it his creative process. I think you would appreciate it! Then I read his book “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle”, which Rachel recommended. That inspired me to start reading “Embracing Defeat: Japan In The Wake Of WWII” to learn about the post-war occupation and cultural transformation.

So excited to see this writing sprout for you. <3
So grateful to be in writing community with you! Love that question... I'll have to give it a think and maybe dedicate a post to it!
Good luckk for the writing year ahead.

PS sorry for typos, my phone keyboard was having a moment just then.
